On 24th February 2019, at approximately 09:15 a.m., as the pastor and her congregants were preparing for the Sunday worship service, a mob of around 200 individuals led by 04 Buddhist monks forcibly entered the church premises and demanded the pastor stop her worship activities immediately.
Allegations were placed against Pastor Jayatissa by the chief prelate of the area for noise and air pollution caused by construction of the church and Sunday mass.
Parties complained of noise pollution created by a newly constructed ‘Christian Family Church’
The accused was charged under sections 139, 143 and 144 of the penal code of Sri Lanka. Caused loss, damage and inflicted violence.
The accused has established a place of worship without the approval of the council.

Issue before the MC- The residents of the area had complained to the police that a large number of people were congregating at the respondent-petitioner’s residence.
The petitioner (Christian) complained mentioning that his fundamental right to equality guaranteed by Article 12 of the Sri Lankan Constitution has been infringed by the Principle of Kingswood College.
Petitioner alleged that his fundamental right to equality was violated when Kingswood College, Kandy denied his son admission to Grade 1 of the school for 2017.
The Petitioner complained that her fundamental right to equality guaranteed has been infringed by the Principal, Girls’ High School Kandy by refusing admission of her daughter to Grade 01 of the school.
