The arrest of the petitioners on 01st March 2014 by the 1st respondent, was unlawful and that the 1st respondent has violated the petitioners‟ fundamental rights guaranteed by Article 13(1) of the Constitution.

The Petitioner complained that her fundamental right to equality guaranteed has been infringed by the Principal, Girls’ High School Kandy by refusing admission of her daughter to Grade 01 of the school.

The accused has established a place of worship without the approval of the council.
